After a five-year run at London's Adelphi Theatre and on Broadway, Back to the Future: The Musical has touched down at Hamburg's Stage Operettenhaus for its German premiere, running from March through December 2026. The Olivier Award-winning production, adapted by original film co-writer Bob Gale, sends the DeLorean hurtling across the stage at 88 mph with live stunt work and practical illusion. Storyline
Buckle up for a high-octane, time-travelling adventure! When the eccentric Doc Brown builds a plutonium-powered DeLorean (the time machine), the rock 'n' rolling Marty McFly is accidentally sent back to 1985. Trapped in the past, Marty faces an electrifying race against the clock: he must make his mismatched teenage parents fall in love, or he will completely vanish from existence. This race against time pairs theatrical magic with a nostalgic pop-rock score. It’s a comedy-thrill journey through time with special effects. Can Marty fix the past and change his future before time runs out?
